An updated look at the current playoff picture and scenarios through Mondaynight of Week 16:MORE: Week 17 opening lines | Must-see images | Steelers vs. Bengals moved to prime time AFC Who would be in No. 1 seed: Patriots (12-3). The AFC East champions clinched this top seed and home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs with their win Sunday over the Jets and the Broncos' lo s Monday night to the Bengals. With it, the Patriots becomethe heavy favorites here to get to the Super Bowl. Whats left: vs. BUFNo. 2 seed: Broncos (11-4). The AFC West champions lost to the Bengals on Monday night, losing any chance at the top AFC seed for a second consecutive postseason. Now the Broncosneed to focus on just beating the Raiders at home in Week 17 to secure at least No. 2 and a first-round bye. If the Broncos lose, theBengals can steal this position, too, with another win. Whats left: vs. OAKNo. 3seed: Bengals (10-4-1). The AFC North leaders clinched a playoff berth with their win over the Broncos on Monday night. Now they face the Steelers next Sunday night playing just for the division title and a playoff home game. A win gives them at least No. 3; with another Broncos lo Josh McCown Jersey s,the Bengals would move up to No. 2 andget a first-round bye. If the Bengals lose, they wouldstart as a No. 5 on the road against the Colts. Whats left: at PITNo. 4seed: Colts (10-5) .The AFC South champions were injury-riddled and uninterested in the lopsided lo s to the Cowboys on Sunday . Now they're pretty much locked here, because even with a win against the Titans in Week 17, the Coltswould be behind whoever wins the North, as the Bengals are a half-game ahead and the Steelers won the head-to-head meeting. Whats left: at TENNo. 5 seed: Steelers (10-5). They clinched at least a Darron Lee Jersey wild-card spot with their win over the Chiefs on Sunday. They willwin the North by beating the Bengals at home in Week 17, and with it will come the No. 3 becausethey beat the Colts earlier in the season. Whats left: vs. CINNo. 6 seed: Chargers (9-6). They control the second wild card thanks to their big comeback win over the 49ers on Saturday and the Ravens lo s to the Texans on Sunday. Its simple now: The Chargers are in as the AFC's final playoff team with a win over the Chiefs in Week 17. If they lose, however, they would beeliminated, regardle s of what else happens. Whats left: at KCWhos right behind: Ravens (9-6), Texans (8-7), Chiefs (8-7). The Ravens can no longer win the AFC North. For the wild card, they need to beat the Browns in Week 17, and then need to hope for the Chargers to lose to the Chiefs. The Texans, who just beat the Ravens, would need to beat the Jaguars and hope that both the Ravens and Chargers lose so they can get in. The Chiefs need to beat the Chargers and hope both the Ravens and Texans lose.Whos out: Dolphins (8-7), Bills (8-7), Browns (7-8), Jets (3-12), Jaguars (3-12), Raiders (3-12), Titans (2-13). The Dolphins were eliminated when the Steelers won; the Bills were knocked out by their lo s to the Raiders. Once again, the AFC East has one playoff team.NFC Who would be in No. 1 seed: Seahawks (11-4). They grabbed the NFC West lead and clinched at least a wild-card berth after finishing their sweep of the Cardinals on Sunday. A win over the Rams in Week 17 would both give them the division title and top seed for the second straight season. Home-field advantage would serve them nicely in their Super Bowl defense. Whats left: vs. STLNo. 2 seed: Lions (11-4). They still lead the NFC North after beating the Bears on Sunday by virtue of their win over the Packers in Detroit earlier. They have clinched at least a wild-card berth; a win at Lambeau Field gives them the division title, a first-round bye and a chance at the top seed if the Seahawks stumble. A lo s would dropthem down to No. 6. Whats left: at GBNo. 3 seed: Jamal Adams Jersey Cowboys (11-4). They clinched the NFC East title by routing the Colts on Sunday. They most likely will hold this seed, but theres an outside shot at a first-round bye. They can earn that by beating the Redskins in Week 17, coupled with both the Seahawks and Cardinals losing or the Packers and Lions tying. Whats left: at WASNo. 4 seed: Panthers (6-8-1). They have the NFC South lead after they beat the Browns and the Saints lost to the Falcons at home on Sunday. Now the Panthers justneed to beat the Falcons on the road in Week 17 to win a second straight division title. Whats left: at ATLNo. 5 seed: Packers (11-4). They clinched at least a wild-card berth by rolling over the Buccaneers on Sunday. If they beat the Lions at Lambeau Field in Week 17, it would give them at least the No. 2 seed, a first-round bye and a home playoff game with a shot at No. 1. If they lose, they would likely step into an immediate tough road matchup against the Cowboys. Whats left: vs. DETNo. 6 seed: Cardinals (11-4). They lost the NFC West lead and top spot and now need help to be more than a wild-card team with a much tougher road to the Super Bowl. That requires them beating the 49ers for a second time in Week 17 and the Rams doing the same to the Seahawks. If the Cardinalsjust win, they wouldat least move up to No. 4 over the Lions or Packers to get an opening shot at the weak South champions. Whats left: at SFWhos right behind: Falcons (6-9). They can either beat the Panthers at home and get in as South champions or just stay home for the playoffs. The latter unfortunately would also prompt a coaching Marcus Williams Jersey change.Whos out: Eagles (9-6), 49ers (7-8), Saints (6-9), Vikings (6-9), Giants (6-9), Rams (6-9), Bears (5-10), Redskins (4-11), Buccaneers (2-13). The Eagles elimination as a potential 10-win team behind an inferior South champion should make the NFL rethink its playoff setup. On the flip side, the Buccaneers know they can lock up the No. 1 draft pick with a lo s to the just eliminated Saints.
